The 2.0 stool is a study of the especially powerful spatial qualities that we can only find in nature. The weathering of steel can give us brightness, dullness and decay which are all undoubtedly intriguing qualities. The combination of these elements creates something wild and engaging and therefore offers a new experience. Separation of the stool exposes the core and it spatial qualities, also an alternate function. In the same way we can adapt nature to engage with it, the 2.0 stool adapts and changes use and appearance as we need it to. The Corten steel is treated making it clean to touch but while allowing it to continue weathering slowly over time and therefore colours will mature and evolve.
Overlapping elements creates above all a perception of depth that slowly begins transitioning into darkness. Designed to be used as a stool or side table, but moreover it is an evolving design that when separated adapts to its environment. So Bohemian in style, and due to its inspiration from the natural world it will sit comfortably in any space.
